Manto Mitama Festival [Hiroshima Gokoku Shrine]

Since ancient times, in Japan, there has been a custom of lighting a fire to comfort the souls of the dead.

At Hiroshima Gokoku-jinja Shrine, the “Manto Mitama Festival” is held by raising around 2000 lanterns dedicated by many citizens of the prefecture in the precincts to honor the divine virtues of the deity enshrined as the guardian deity of peace and offer sincerity of gratitude.
